With a new year, comes a new wardrobe and there are so many Spring/Summer trends making their way from the catwalks to the High Street right now; the overarching theme being the real woman’s return to femininity, female empowerment and opting for styles that offer comfort and confidence.

We know it can be frustrating to style these looks effectively; crafting a look that is distinctly you, but we’re here to give you a rundown of the five SS19 trends that will genuinely affect your wardrobe and some tips on how to incorporate these styles into your wardrobe.

Get ahead of the style pack and shop our latest selection of dynamite threads that’ll help shape your statement style of 2019. Just remember, whatever you wear this year, wear it with attitude!

Girls, this is the year of you.

1) Leopard Print

It’s true, animal print was all over 2018 fashion like a pup in heat, but fashion’s best friend still seems to be high on the trends list for 2019 with leading brands such as Burberry, Calvin Klein and Gucci leading the way. However, the feline print is taking a more feminine approach this year with classic midi skirts, refined separates, and elegant flowy evening gowns.

For girls who want to add a rock ‘n’ roll edge to their style, animal print is a definite must-have, promoting femininity and confidence even in the simplest of styles. Rock yours in neutral tones with bold, mismatched accessories to stay on trend or tone down the look and opt for some leopard print accessories.

2) All The Beige:

There is something silently feminine about beige, not depending on any extravagance to translate its authority. Its confidence comes through in how you wear it. This was seen in the demure silhouettes that strutted down the SS19 catwalks for Givenchy and Dior. From oatmeal to biscuit, blush and off-white, it’s time to take a step into neutral territory.

Understated, and yet so very effective. This tone will complement any skin colour and can be made to suit any figure with angular tailoring or flowing elegant skirts.

3) ‘Extra' Extras

No outfit is truly complete without some ‘bling’ and this year it seems the bigger the better. We mean it. If your ear-candy doesn’t enter the room before you do, then it isn’t big enough! Try experimenting with your accessories: bows of all sizes, supersized hats and extravagant footwear were a few favourites on the SS19 catwalks.

Accessories provide the opportunity to express your individuality from head-to-toe. No matter how many people own the same dress, the way in which you style it can set you apart from the crowd.

4) Top Handle Bags

There is something special about top-handle bags, we’re not too sure what it is. Perhaps it’s the way in which we can swing our arms while carrying them, or maybe it's how carefree and ladylike they make us feel when we are out and about. There’s one thing we are sure of: they will be hot property for 2019 while taking on a more luxe and polished aesthetic.

Structured in their design, these dainty accessories make the perfect accompaniment to pretty much any outfit, so get one stat!

5) Fringing

With last year’s cowboy boot trend ruling AW18, it isn’t surprising to see another western-inspired revival for 2019. Fringing will be adorning every sleeve, hem, bag and everything in between this year. Whether crocheted along power shoulders or used to relax your maxi dresses, this detailing will maximise your wardrobe and elevate any ensemble to Boho-chic in an instant!

Easy breezy. Fringing adds a dose of fun and whimsical energy to your everyday outfits, accomplishing statement style status with very little effort on your part.
