YOU’RE THE EPITOME OF SOMEONE WHO HAS A LOT OF SLASHES IN THEIR CAREER. HOW DO YOU BALANCE BEING A DJ/PRESENTER/BLOGGER?
I am the kind of person who revels in each day being different, I love doing one thing Monday, another Tuesday. That's why I picked my line of work! For me experiencing new things is the most exciting part of my job.
WHAT WAS YOUR BIG BREAK?
So far I think I would have to say landing a job at Capital XTRA. I do the evening show there and the opportunities that have come with being on such a great station are wicked. If I am honest I think that my reeeeeal 'big break' is yet to come but in terms of radio definitely Capital XTRA
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR YOUNG WOMEN WHO WANT TO GET THEIR FOOT IN THE DOOR OF THE MEDIA INDUSTRY?
I think my one word of advice would be: TRY
I remember when being a presenter was just an idea I had and so many people tell me that it is impossible to get into and that the competition would be too stiff. If it wasn’t for the little voice telling me to just try it out I might not have been.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE, AND WHAT INFLUENCES IT?
I would describe my style as fluid; simply because I never limit myself with what I wear. I am not the sort of person who never wears black or never wears heels. I'm not a tom boy or a girly girl. I am, however, always comfortable in my fashion choices!
IF ONE SONG COULD SUMMARIES YOU, WHAT WOULD YOU PICK?
Easy! Suzanna Vega- Tom's Diner. This is an absolute classic, I haven’t quite worked out if I am the lady who comes into the diner or the one sitting watching but I absolutely adore this song. (On a side note I do wish I could've said Migos Bad & Boujee but I’m neither bad nor boujee lol.
WITH SUCH A BUSY SCHEDULE, DO YOU GET ANY DOWN TIME? IF SO, WHAT DOES ‘ME TIME’ LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?
Recently I have been insanely busy so the only 'me time' I have really been getting is when I sleep, but ideally I like to swim or run. When I get time I also love doing my own hair, which may sound weird but I just stick a movie on and start playing around with it. It's oddly relaxing
YOU’RE A SELF-PROCLAIMED BAD-ASS. WHERE DOES YOUR SELF-CONFIDENCE COME FROM, AND HOW DO YOU NURTURE IT?
I have 4 older sisters and they taught me from a young age to be proud of myself as a woman; proud of my body and also of my voice. I think my confidence comes from having such a strong support network of amazing women. I truly think that our differences are what makes us beautiful and I try to celebrate that, it also helps to try not comparing yourself to others.
WHAT ITEM OF CLOTHING COULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
Trainers! I mean they're not just for working out anymore girls. Trainers have become sassy and I am a definite collector. Don't get me wrong I love my heels but trainers win every time!
WE ALL GET IN A STYLE RUT SOMETIMES, WHERE DO YOU TURN FOR FASHION INSPO?
If I am feeling wholly uninspired I take a trip to the shops and have a little look at what is in the rails, I rarely get time to go shopping so it's nice to see what everyone else is actually wearing. But if all else really does fail then Rihanna! Come on she is just amazing.
