When winter comes around, it’s no surprise that the desire to be snuggled within layers is top of mind. Fortunately the Autumn-Winter ’16 runway was flooded with oversized knits and jackets. From Walter Van Beirendonck's knee-length cardigan to Balmain's fur lined military jacket, designers went overboard with pieces that will keep you cocooned and warm in the cold months.

After bomber jackets this winter, it’s time to adopt another trend inspired by the military. Look for army green in everything from fitted vests to slim trousers, fur coats and parkas. The designers who truly stood out were Louis Vuitton, Valentino, White Mountaineering and Junya Watanabe.

Checks have been the mainstay of men’s wardobes for the last two seasons, but this time this pattern was used on statement pieces, dominating the look. From chunky outerwear to a slick suit, if you're a fan of checks, get ready to standout. Take inspiration from Junya Watanabe, Valentino, Ann Demeulemeester and Kolor.

Remember wearing coordinated sweatshirts and jog pants in the ’90s? Re-envisioned as another version of print-on-print, this trend has quickly found space from the runways to the wardrobes. From Issey Miyake's sporty shorts paired with a fitted jumper, to Kenzo's three-piece print overload, there’s a minefield to explore.
